Paper Gods & Fallen Angels

The “Paper Gods®” series draws its conceptual foundation from The I Ching (The Book of Changes), pronounced e Ching. This ancient Chinese philosophical system, expressed through 64 intricate hexagrams, has guided spiritual seekers and scholars for centuries. Its layered symbolism and wisdom require years of study to fully comprehend, offering a framework for understanding change, duality, and transformation.

In response to this legacy, I created 64 mono-prints, each serving as a visual meditation on transformation and interconnectedness. The works fuse paint with vintage wallpaper cut outs in a variety of shapes and patterns.

These fragments, carefully chosen and integrated, are not mere decorative flourishes - they become essential elements of form, texture, and color. The result is a collection that bridges the tactile and the symbolic, merging the precision of design with the unpredictability of painterly gesture.
